857642_10151289555812227_521082341_o Being a Wedding Singer in Burnley its only right that i perform at yet another fantastic Wedding Fayre at the picturesque Towneley Hall in Burnley in conjunction with Little White Books, not only my home town, but I’ve been visiting Towneley Hall since I was child, I get a thrill performing there not only that but I’m the recommended wedding singer in Burnley for the hall, so that in itself is a privilege.
Yesterday’s fayre was very well attended and the park was full of people with children and dog walkers as Mr Blue Sky popped out to say hello.
The Tall Toastmaster was in attendance along with DJ extraordinaire Andy B, and last but most certainly not least Amelia’s Bridal wear provided some stunning wedding dresses, I always love working with Amelia’s they are a fantastic family business with an attention to detail, they used professional models yesterday, but when they do the catwalk themselves as a family it’s a must see and is the stuff of legends!
There were two catwalk shows and I had the opportunity to sing a couple of songs before both, I decided on Michael Buble ” Just haven’t met you yet” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”, later on I even threw in a very rocky version of “Suspicious minds”, not exactly suitable for a wedding fayre but judging by the reaction it got it went down a storm ;-).
Lots of enquiries came my way as did plenty for all the other exhibitors, so a good day all round at Towneley Hall I’d say.

    The X Factor 2012 judges

    Which judge would you prefer?

Well the X factor auditions are here again and yes I have applied, I originally applied many moons ago when Steve Brookstein won the show. The X Factor has certainly evolved since the early days and I’m looking forward to giving it ago, maybe not looking forward to all the queuing though…lol
    Admittedly I haven’t watched it for a
while but my kids have asked me to have a go and anyone who knows me knows I will do anything for them.
It’s nice when I recently announced it on my Facebook Page to have gotten so much of an outpouring of support, I have been getting asked for a long time now to give it another go and finally I have succumbed to public and child pressure ;-).
I will keep you posted, one question to you all which judge would you prefer to have as a mentor?.

Mr & Mrs Morris dance to “Everything” by Michael Buble

When I meet couples for the first time, we chat about everything from the venue to the type of evening they are hoping for and then It never ceases to amaze me when I ask the question ” have you got any first dance wedding songs in mind?”, sometimes they literally have no idea and ask me for suggestions, so I thought I would share some suggestions with you.
To me personally I believe that first dance wedding songs should be songs which mean something to you and your partner, maybe a song that always seemed to be played wherever you went when you were courting, or lyrically describes how you met or feel about one another. Here are some of the most popular first dance wedding songs I have sang at weddings over the years.
A good thing to remember also is that first dance wedding songs dont necessarily have to be slow and smoochy, they can be fun and upbeat, more and more couples are now choreographing their first dance and having so much fun with it, it’s a pleasure to see some of the ideas that they come up with.

    Amazed by Lonestar
I dont want to miss a thing by Aerosmith
    Everything by Michael Buble
    Angels by Robbie Williams
Love is all around by Wet Wet Wet
A million love songs Take That

Hope that helps in some way, if you need any further help why not give me a call I’m always available for a chat.

This evening sees me return to a place that I love, The Albert Hotel in Windermere, Cumbria, on and off I have been singing here for 10 years and it’s a lovely venue to sing at, recently refurbished it has a lovely homely atmosphere, yet come 10pm on a Friday night and when I’m singing there it’s most definitely party time, the thing about playing in these lovely idyllic tourist destinations is that everyone is always up for a party and that for me is all I need to give people a good night, cant wait to get cracking! I must remember on the way up I have to visit a millionaire’s mansion, to organise a gig for my band Made in England…Thought I’d throw that teaser in there for you…haha, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing have a great weekend!!
