How many onions does it take to make a bride cry…
Sorry, a bad joke, but a relevant one.
What a laugh this wedding was, full of laughter and love.
I started off the wedding breakfast singing the bride and her bridesmaids into one of the beautiful rooms at Holmes Mill with my version of ‘The One’ by Kodaline.
The ceremony started with a smash, literally, the mother of the bride certainly made an entrance, accidentally kicking over one of the glass candle holders, the laughter filled the room and set the tone for the rest of the day’s antics.
The bride and groom opted for their drinks reception at the hotel bar and bistro, Holmes Mill reportedly has one of the longest bars in the UK at a whopping 105ft 4”, its home to 42 hand pulls and hosts a minimum of 24 cask beers at any one time! One to make note of if a beer shortage ever arises.
Gracie, the daughter of Jess and Lee tried her hardest to get her beautifully written speech out, but the emotions took over and one of the bridesmaids kindly read it out on her behalf. I’m certain there were no dry eyes.
Lee, the groom really wanted a speech so good, it would make his bride tear up, so he pulled it out of the bag and handed her an onion, there was a heartwarming eruption of laughter.
