A Fairytale Peckforton Castle Wedding: Matty & Sherrie’s Big Day

Every now and again, I get to be part of a wedding that just feels different, one of those days where the magic hits you the second you walk in. And this one? It was exactly that. A few days ago, I had the pleasure of hosting and singing for Matty and sherrie’s Peckforton Castle wedding, a day full of laughter, emotion, and pure joy from start to finish. This wasn’t just any wedding either. The couple actually won a special competition we ran back in January, which included my hosting, Fleur Designs’ creative touches, and Kaptured by Lindsey’s stunning photography. Talk about a dream team.

Arriving at Peckforton Castle

If you’ve ever been to Peckforton Castle, you’ll know it’s one of those venues that instantly takes your breath away. A real-life fairytale setting, a place steeped in history.
When you walk up that long, winding drive through the woods and see the castle appear in front of you, it’s a proper goosebumps moment.

The Bride Visit and The Great Coffee Hunt

Now, those who know me will know that weddings and caffeine go hand in hand. So before the ceremony kicked off, I popped up to see Sherrie for a quick hello and a chat and maybe to track down that elusive castle coffee.

Turns out, Sherrie was more than happy to help a host out! She sorted me with a cup, we shared a few laughs, and it was lovely seeing her calm, collected, and genuinely excited for what was about to unfold.

Moments like that, just before the ceremony are gold. You can feel the anticipation building. Shortly afterwards I would take Gary, the father of the bride, up for the bride reveal.

A Moment to Remember: The Bride Reveal

This was one of those “grab a tissue” moments. Gary walked in, saw his daughter in her dress, and you could just feel the pride and love in the room.
Kaptured by Lindsey, Content by Kaysy, and Drop D Films were all there snapping away,  every teary smile, every nervous laugh, perfectly frozen in time.

It’s one of my favourite parts of any wedding day, that little window before everything officially begins. You get to see all the emotion before the formalities start, the heart of it all.

Ceremony Surprises and 'Bad Boys' Ring Security

The ceremony itself had the perfect mix of class and comedy. Picture this: three little “security guards” walking down the aisle with the rings, sunglasses on, strutting to the Bad Boys theme tune. The guests absolutely loved it!

Then, just before the bride made her entrance, we played some recorded messages from the couple’s little ones,  heartfelt words for their dad, telling him what an amazing person he is and that they’d see him shortly. It was such a beautiful touch; you could feel the whole room shift from laughter to tears in an instant.

A Drinks Reception Full of Smiles

Once the “I dos” were sealed and the confetti had settled, it was time to move into the drinks reception. Matty and Sherrie snuck off for photos with the incredible Kaptured by Lindsey, while the guests enjoyed music, drinks, and a bit of light-hearted chaos (the good kind).

That’s where my job really shines,  keeping the energy up, making sure people are laughing, chatting, and soaking it all in before the wedding breakfast kicks off.

The Wedding Breakfast: A Full Monty Surprise

Ah, the wedding breakfast. Always one of my favourite parts of the day. I get to entertain, introduce the speeches, and keep that “feel-good” momentum flowing.
But this one had an extra twist… halfway through, the groom himself decided to surprise everyone with a Full Monty moment! (Ok I may of had a small hand in that one!)

Shirts off, guests roaring, the whole room absolutely buzzing. It’s those mad, spontaneous moments that no one sees coming that make weddings unforgettable.

A Perfect Ending to a Perfect Day

As the evening rolled in, I hung around to make sure the transitions went smoothly,  first dance, evening entrance, all the little touches that tie the day together.

Matty and Cherie were the kind of couple that make my job easy. Totally in love, easy-going, up for a laugh, and surrounded by a crowd that adored them.

It was just one of those weddings where everything clicked,  the setting, the people, the atmosphere, all perfectly in sync.

A massive congratulations again to Matty and Sherrie and a huge shoutout to everyone involved for helping make their Peckforton Castle wedding an absolute dream.
