I was gutted to find out this morning that Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to call it a day and step down from the managers job at Manchester United.
Whilst not totally unexpected it still hasn’t quite sunk in, I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for Sir Alex to make, but one that had to be made at some point nonetheless.
Without a shadow of a doubt Sir Alex has been the Greatest manager the club has ever seen and is arguably the Greatest Football Manager there has ever been in the English game.
From Beckham to Cantona, Robson to Bruce, Schmeichel to Ronaldo, Giggs to Scholes, the list goes on, some of the best players to have graced the English game played under Sir Alex at Manchester United over the years and under his tutelage not only won every trophy possible but helped build Manchester United into one of the world’s biggest brand names.
I’m sure Manchester United will continue to win trophies, but things will never be quite the same without him, over the next few days I’m sure there will be an outpouring of support for him and well wishes, myself personally would just like to wish Sir Alex all the very best for the future and to thank you for all the wonderful memories you have given Manchester United fans over the years.
