The South Lakes Wild Animal Park in Dalton

Last night I had the pleasure of entertaining the staff at The South Lakes Wild Animal Park in Dalton.

I’ve been to the zoo many times over the years with my children and they love it, but last night was extra special.I arrived and the place was lit up like Lapland it was amazing, I then went into the restaurant and was met by the biggest tree I have ever seen, it was huge.

Once I was all set up and ready to go the guests began to arrive, they were greeted by a champagne reception and the owner of the zoo David Gill who happens to be a friend of mine, he made me chuckle turning out in his customary cowboy hat.I had agreed with David to get the guests warmed up for the meal, so I seated them early then proceeded to get them into the party spirit before the starters were even sent out.

It didn’t take long for the party to be in full swing with guests dancing on chairs and singing away to a few classic tunes and as it was a free bar I’d of expected nothing less, however the two reindeer’s at the side of the building didn’t look too impressed. The Christmas party has been going on now for 20 years so I was chuffed to bits when David told me this was by far the best one he had been to, I must be doing something right as I’ve been getting that a lot lately.I can wait until next year…

All the very best to David & all his staff
