What a lovely couple, Chris & Gemma had recently been to Rome to get married surrounded by family and friends who had taken the trip with them to share in their special day, the wedding was followed by an idyllic cruise around the Mediterranean sea.
Upon their return Chris & Gemma had decided to throw a party for all their family and friends at Omar Khan’s Restaurant in Skipton in Yorkshire a perfect setting for a Wedding Singer in Yorkshire.
They asked me to sing and DJ for the night which as always I am thrilled to do, I arrived early as I always do and was met by Chris and his Father at the door, after a brief chat I managed to get set up and ready for the arrival of the evening guests.
Gemma arrived first and looked absolutely stunning, she checked the first dance over with me to make sure I had the correct version and then it was all systems go.
By 8 o’clock the place was packed, there was a real buzz in the air, eager as always I couldn’t wait to get started, first song out of the bag was My Blue Sky, why not it was a glorious day outside, from then on in the night was off and running.
Before you knew it, it was time to cut the cake and have the first dance of the evening, Chris and Gemma had chosen a cracking song by Papa Roach, not one that I was familiar with but you could see that the song had a lot of meaning for them both which is how a first dance should be.
Soon it was time for the buffet and what a buffet it was, Indian style, everything you could want from Onion Bhajis to Pakoras and a few different currys were on offer, can you tell I like Asian food?…
Later on in the evening I sang a few requests and most notably Don’t Stop Believing by Journey for Chris and his friends.
It was a great night and not one that will be forgotten, all I would like to say is that I wish both Chris & Gemma all the very best for the future and to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day x
