A lot of venues will push you towards big agencies. The problem is you don’t even know who your host is until a week or two before the wedding. More often than not it’ll be a DJ who’ll play a few games, stick some music on and call that “hosting.” That’s not me.
What couples don’t always realise is that agencies usually pay a commission back to the venue just to be on the recommended supplier list. A slice of what you pay goes straight back to the venue, and the agency will often upsell you extra things like dancefloors, magic mirrors and hosts. It’s all done cheaper, but it pushes out the smaller independent businesses who actually care about the job.
The fact that I’ve been going strong for over 25 years in the middle of that kind of business model tells you everything. If I wasn’t doing something right, I wouldn’t have lasted this long. Couples book me because they want a trusted face, not pot luck, a wedding singer and host in Lancashire they know will actually deliver.
When you book me, you know exactly who’s turning up. It’s me you’re talking to in the run up, me who answers your questions, and me who’ll be there on the day. I’ve got 25 years’ experience and over a thousand weddings behind me, so I know how to read a room, how to lift it when it needs energy, and how to hold back when it doesn’t. That’s the difference between someone just filling a slot and someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
With me you don’t get pot luck. You get consistency, passion, and someone who genuinely cares about making sure your day flows exactly how it should.
